Principal's Corner
What a year! Who could have imagined a school year quite like the one we just completed in the midst of a pandemic? I am so very proud of our entire school community for the way in which students, families and teachers stuck together no matter the odds and made the best learning experiences possible happen for every child. Our students and teachers demonstrated grit, determination and resilience that no grade or test could ever measure. The amount of growth we have all experienced this year during unprecedented times will be something that we can reflect upon and be proud of as we look towards the future.
While the year was challenging, there were so many positives and much new learning that came out of it. Perhaps the most exciting outcome is that every student is now 1:1 with technology at Mt. Morris Middle School. This presents new and more consistent opportunities for all our students to engage in project-based learning and inquiry experiences moving forward.
The 'storm' of the pandemic school year also created some changes in the landscape of our school team. While we are saying goodbye to some teammates who have had new opportunities arise for their families and careers, our school is welcoming strong new talent to help our school move to the next level. We are looking forward to introducing these new teammates to our school community soon.
It is an honor to be the Principal of Mt. Morris Middle School and I am thankful to be able to serve such an amazing group of kids, parents, faculty, staff and the community.

For now, it is time to slow down, rest and prepare for a successful 2021-22 school year. Stay safe and enjoy!
